Château Puybarbe is located in the commune of Mombrier in the heart of the appellation “Côtes de Bourg”. Three lines of hillside on the right bank of the Dordogne River made that this wine producing region is called “the small Switzerland”. Château Puybarbe is owned by the Orlandi family since 1952. At the beginning the vineyard was composed of only 7 hectares. Today, it is 32 hectares planted in vines. Composed of 32 hectares, the chalky-clay soil of Château Puybarbe is planted with traditional grapes varieties from Bordeaux region...a blending of Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (20%). The average age of the vines is 26 years.
