Tasting Notes
Jewel of Skyland is a one-acre, dry-farmed vineyard located in the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA planted to a variety of clones of Pinot Noir. The 2019 vintage was partially destemmed and fermented on native yeasts for fourteen days, then pressed by hand. A natural malolactic fermentation occured in barrel, and the wine aged twelve months in one-quarter new French oak. Bottled unfined and unfiltered at the winery by hand, we produced just seven barrels of this wine, 177 cases.
Perfumed cherry and strawberry leaf on the palate with notes of cracked black and spciy pepper notes. The wine finishes with a mild cherry cola and dark cocoa.
