The growing season featured a classic sunny bud break, followed by an abnormally cold and rainy April with a couple of hailstorms, which did not hinder excellent flowering and fruit set. A typical Bolgheri summer ensued, with average temperatures and few heat spikes. A slightly cooler August with high diurnal range resulted in healthy grapes with excellent balance between technical and phenolic maturity.
